A well written and detailed book that is both accessible and easy to read with clear diagrams that have a good level of detail. The topics covered are both relevant and interesting and there is more than enough information for a medical degree. Sometimes there is too much detail for a medical course. Whilst the extra information is interesting, it can provide confusion, especially on a PBL course where it is sometimes hard to know the depth in which to study. It’s presentation is also a little dated and some of the diagrams are very schematic, making it hard to apply it to the real situation. Subheadings are good and clear, words in bold help to emphasise the key points. The equations that are presented are easy to follow but not necessarily relevant. Topics are well organised and required information is easily found. Online access has good range of animations.
