For those who find Berne’s Physiology text too detailed, this book provides a succinct, up to date summary of physiological processes. It’s written in a straightforward and easy-to-understand manner. It is concise and efficiently covers all of the most ‘need-to-know’ concepts in the field. There are hundreds of full-colour illustrations, graphs, figures and tables, which really help you to grasp complex physiological principles more easily. The content includes shaded “clinical boxes” to demonstrate physiological concepts and case examples that explain responses to various stimuli or to pathological processes. A self-assessment section with answers, allows you to test your understanding of the subject. Like all student consult titles, you can access the full text of the book online, and read integration links to relevant material from other student consult books; further online features include self-assessment activities, and a ‘community centre!’
