This review refers to a previous edition of this book
This book encompasses all aspects of clinical examination. From the first chapter on communication and history taking, it goes through examination of each body system and even covers neonatal and paediatric assessment. Every chapter begins with an introduction to the anatomy and physiology of that system, with well thought-out diagrams and great flow charts. This is followed by a section of presenting complaints, and then the actual examination process. There are numerous real-life pictures of pathologies, tying in very well with the writing, allowing you to visualise what you’re reading. It is a very colourful book with great summary tables for differential diagnoses and every chapter is ended by a summary of the basics you should remember. So, apart from its physical size (its not a book you would carry around the wards with you), Clinical Examination is a very useful, easy to read book for OSCEs and clinical years.
