I award this book a BUYER RATING of 5/5. I don’t believe that this book requires neither a review to be honest nor an introduction. It is amazing. The Stephen Hawkins of the book world bathed in pure knowledge that will engross any health professional. Can not reiterate enough how brilliant this book is. I am sure everyone will come across reading lists rest assured this book is on it. I am sure everyone will come across hand me down lists from the years above, rest assured this book is NOT on it. Once you acquire this book you will never feel the urge to get rid of it. Enjoy, Latifa (“,)

I found the book very useful in the first 3 years of my course to answer some of the clinical tasks we were set. The design and layout of the book is very appealing, making it easy to read. It contains lots of summary boxes with important information for revision. In my fourth year now, I still prefer this book to many other of the more complex (and somewhat boring) books. It is very easy just to pick up and read, even if you don't have work to do. The online access is also invaluable. Really useful for when you don't have the book with you and you need to find medical information in a clear and concise manner. I found the website particularly useful for printing off tables and diagrams to scribble on or to stick on the wall to revise! If you're a medical student, don't hesitate to buy this book!

Rebecca Stubbs, University of Cambridge

This is virtually the only ‘must have’ book on any medical student’s shelf. It provides a fantastic introduction to practically every topic we have to know about, and in many cases gives all the detail required. The beginning sections on anatomy and physiology are especially helpful for those of us who forget things as soon as exams are over! The very clear structure and careful attention to classifications and subheadings means you never get lost in the chapter. It’s great to have free access to the on-line material although some sections are more useful than others. ‘Ask the author’ provides a great forum to get answers, and surface anatomy is good, but for other sections I’d be inclined to look elsewhere for comparable content.
