Personally, I am not a fan of Kumar and Clark (I used Davidson’s) so I wasn’t sure I’d like this book (which is in the “K&C Family”). However, I’ve been using it for some of my coursework, and really like it. It’s simple to use – it was easy to find the details that I was looking for in the text, and the text was very readable. My one criticism would be that I don’t think the index is detailed enough. I found this quite frustrating and I felt to some extent that it let the book down: the work that I’ve been using the book for involves looking up lots of small pieces of information, and it would have been made a lot easier if the index more accurately reflected the content of the text. However, overall I am pleased with this book, and would not hesitate in recommending it to friends who wanted a general obstetrics and gynaecology book.
