OSCEs, a vital part of medical examinations, are traditionally the most feared. Aimed at senior medical students, this book is a god-send and explores virtually all likely scenarios for almost guaranteed exam success!
Topics covered include difficult situations, information giving, treatment issues and a very useful and comprehensive section on focused histories, which will serve you well at medical school and beyond, building life-long skills.
The lay-out and style are excellent: Each subject is presented as an OSCE introduction in a real-life setting followed by tips, essential questions and their clinical relevance, a handy ‘think list’ and warnings against common pitfalls. Consultation role-plays and commentary are displayed alongside with ‘fact sheets’, clear bullet points and mnemonics for easy-learning.
I cannot praise this book enough: concise yet comprehensive, relevant and pocket-sized; not only designed to make you a good student and pass your exams, but to be a good doctor.
