This book provides a concise account of the important basic concepts and key facts of human anatomy. This is obviously not a detailed anatomy textbook and it does not aim to take the place of the more comprehensive anatomy books. The first section covers anatomical terminology and a brief survey of the main physiological systems of the body. The second section includes a more in-depth coverage of the body according to region. Each chapter begins with an overview and learning objectives, which can act as useful checklists. There are a number of different types of self-assessment questions, including multiple choice, single best answer, matching item, and data interpretation. Clinical boxes are interspersed within the text highlighting important injuries, diseases and techniques. Clear explanations to all self-assessment answers are provided thereby encouraging understanding. I feel that this book would also benefit from the addition of colour within diagrams to aid in understanding.
