Dermatology is a difficult subject to tackle initially. A text needs to be clearly labelled with good diagrams and diseases well differentiated and I think this is done fairly well. This book is more information than a student would need and I would recommend Gawkrodger’s book for the basics.
However, this is an excellent book for consolidating your learning. Every doctor will come across skin conditions in their career and I don’t think investing in this as a reference text is a bad idea.
There is a lot of information here but it’s well presented with colour coded summary boxes depending on the type of info in them. While dermatology is easy to get muddled with I liked the structure of the book. There are plenty of photos to keep readers clear about the appearance of diseases (and entertained).
This is a great book to keep on the shelf for all of those occasional skin questions.
