The Flesh and Bones of Immunology is an excellent concise textbook for Medical undergraduates in there 1st and 2nd Years. It is ideal for those whose medical course simply does not give them enough time to read through and decipher all the relevant information from the larger text books. All the key concepts are enclosed within this textbook with clear explanation. Although this book is concise it still gives an excellent understanding of a topic in a much less tedious manor in about a hundredth of the time than other immunology books do. This book is excellent accessory to have to refresh your memory for those undergoing a spiral curriculum how ever it isn’t an ideal source for last minute revision for exams especially if you have many other areas of medicine to revise.

Immunology is a convoluted body system. The latest iteration of the Flesh and Bones series makes good on clarifying the key ideas of immunology while glossing over the confusing underlying details. The layout is well-conceived with a section of 100 must-know facts. The remainder of the book devotes itself to elucidating the said facts in subsequent two page sections.
This book suffers from the occasional typo as well as a few far-reaching phrases yet is perfect for those looking to do last-minute review. The diagrams are very clearly illustrated using an easy-to-follow style. The occasional histology slide greatly adds to the value of the book but there should be more.

This book from the Flesh and Bones series is an excellent introduction into the subject of immunology. One of the best things about it is the first chapter, which allows the reader to gain a basic understanding of immunology. Following this, the book goes into more detail about various subjects. This detail is not at all lacking in information. It gives many of the important details that one would find in a much bigger textbook on the subject, while at the same time staying at an understandable level. I have found while reading other textbooks on immunology, that the wording and complete over-layering of detail makes it nearly impossible to interpret and retain the information given. However, this book brings immunology to a much more user friendly level. I especially like the way in which the book describes what the immune system is comprised of and also its description of its reaction to various situations.
